Wellington Zoo’s Sumatran tiger Rokan was anesthetised currently to have his damaged tooth capped and given a base canal.

The means of a 16-year-old’s snapped tooth remains a mystery to zoo staff, with life scholarship manager Paul Horton observant it could have been anything.

“He could have been personification with one of a toys or feeding, we’re not too sure,” he says.

Rokan’s front dog tooth had damaged downward on an angle, causing a toothache and posing a risk of infection.

“It is utterly a large understanding since they’re large teeth and he’d flattering most halved it. It can’t have been really pleasant,” says Mr Horton.

A tooth dilettante from Massey University was brought into a zoo’s glass-enclosed handling entertainment called ‘The Nest’ to inspect Rokan.

The procession took some-more than 3 hours and Rokan will spend a rest of a afternoon recovering.
